Evelyn Lee, AIA, Joins Savills Studley to Lead West Coast Workplace Strategy Team

SAN FRANCISCO (February 21, 2017) – Savills Studley, the leading commercial real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation, announced today that Evelyn Lee, a licensed architect and recognized expert and thought leader in workplace strategy, has joined the firm as Corporate Managing Director, Workplace Strategy & Analytics. Based in Savills Studley’s San Francisco office, she is responsible for expanding the workplace strategy team’s presence on the west coast in addition to meeting client needs.

“As companies are increasingly putting people first, we are seeing strong client demand for workplace strategy expertise in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and other west coast hubs,” said Steve Barker, Executive Vice President, Director and Branch Manager of the San Francisco office. “Evelyn brings to the firm a depth of experience and leadership in organizational strategy and analytics that will help our clients leverage their environments to serve and support the workforce of the future.”

“Savills Studley’s dedication to the needs of tenants dovetails perfectly with our team’s holistic approach to workplace strategy,” said Lee. “Rather than simply emphasizing workplace efficiencies, our focus is on increasing the effectiveness of the workforce itself. Through a comprehensive understanding of organizational needs, relationships and metrics, we develop creative solutions that distinguish client environments and enrich the employee experience.”

Lee seamlessly integrates her business and architecture background with a qualitative and quantitative focus on workforce wellness, engagement and effectiveness. Her strategic engagements span multiple sectors and include creating new workplace environments for technology (Mozilla), professional services (ZS Associates), NGOs (The Nature Conservancy), education (Stanford University and several University of California schools), government (Santa Clara Valley Water District), and consultancy (Robert Half and the Brattle Group) clients.

Prior to joining Savills-Studley, she successfully contributed to the growth of the workplace strategy practice at MKThink, a multidisciplinary firm that focuses on how buildings can energize culture, enhance human performance and optimize resources, increasing the strategy revenue three-fold.

“Evelyn is a strong anchor for our west coast practice, bringing experience in workplace strategy, team development and leadership to the role,” said Roy Abernathy, a Savills Studley Senior Managing Director and Workplace Strategy Team Leader. “We are actively expanding our practice in this region, including an imminent hire in Los Angeles, as organizations increasingly embrace the need to rethink and realign traditional workplace strategies in response to a number of factors, most significantly, the competition to attract and retain talent.” Savills Studley’s Workplace Strategy team is expanding nationally and has more than doubled its headcount in the last six months.

Evelyn received her Bachelor of Architecture with honors from Drury University and earned her Master of Architecture degree at the Southern California Institute of Architecture. Most recently, Evelyn earned both her Master of Public Administration and Master of Business Administration in Sustainability from the Presidio Graduate School.

Lee is widely published. She writes a monthly column for Contract Magazine and has received numerous industry awards including the 2016 40 Under 40 award from Building Design + Construction and the 2014 AIA National Young Architects Award. She currently serves as Director-At-Large for the National Board of Directors for the AIA.
