LMN Architects is delighted to announce that Susan Lowance has joined the firm as a Principal to further enrich LMN’s national portfolio in higher education. Susan brings over 20 years of specialized expertise in the programming, planning and design of higher education projects, with a particular focus on business education and research facilities.
“We are thrilled to have Susan join LMN’s practice leadership,” says Sam Miller, AIA, LMN’s Managing Partner. “She is already contributing in a significant way to our exploration of new planning possibilities and emerging trends in higher education.”
Prior to joining LMN, Susan was a Director with Kohn Pedersen Fox in New York City where her projects included the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and New York University’s new portal campus in Shanghai, along with projects at the City University of New York, University of Miami, Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, and University of California Los Angeles.
Susan is a registered architect and LEED Accredited Professional. As an active member of the Society for College and University Planning, Susan served on SCUP’s North Atlantic Regional Council, and was also involved with the Organizing Committee for the Higher Education Planning in Asia Forum. Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and her Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
