Roberts to Focus on Institutional Owners of Office Properties in West
IRVINE, Calif. – March 14, 2016 — Michael J. Roberts, a San Diego-based expert in capital markets investing, has joined Colliers International’s Institutional Investment Services Group – Western Region, as a Managing Director, it was announced by Regional President Martin Pupil.
In his new role, Roberts, who formerly served as a senior broker and director with Cushman & Wakefield’s Southern California Capital Markets Group in San Diego, will focus on representing institutional owners of office and R&D properties throughout the West. He will remain based in San Diego.
“Adding a senior investment broker to focus on growing our institutional office properties business in the West has been part of our strategic growth initiative to expand our capital markets reach beyond our already dominant role in the industrial market,” Pupil said. “This also will allow us to offer our full complement of investment services to our Western Region institutional investment clients.”
During Roberts’ career, he has been involved in some $2 billion in investment transactions totaling 12.9 million square feet of office, R&D, and industrial properties in Southern California, Las Vegas and Hawaii. He will continue to focus on representing owners of institutional office properties in the West.
Roberts’ academic background includes an undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego, where he also played four seasons on the university’s NCAA basketball team, the Tritons.
Active in a variety of professional, civic and charitable organizations in San Diego, he is a member the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a graduate of LEAD San Diego, and Hoops for Hospitals, which benefits Rady Children’s Hospital.
