Clark/Lewis, a Joint Venture, Named New Washington State Convention Center General Contractor/Construction Manager

General Contractor/Construction Manager to begin work immediately

SEATTLE – June 8, 2016 – The Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) Public Facilities District announced today the selection of a joint venture of Clark Construction and Lease Crutcher Lewis, headquartered in Maryland and Seattle, respectively, as the new GC/CM for the Addition project. The section was approved by the Addition Committee of the WSCC board of directors.

Two months ago, WSCC terminated its original pre-construction process with a different joint venture contractor team. Upon evaluating how best to proceed with a new contractor, WSCC determined that Clark/Lewis, as the second proposal in the original process, was the logical selection. Accordingly, WSCC will enter into a new pre-construction services agreement with Clark/Lewis and anticipates entering into a construction agreement when a maximum allowable construction cost for the project has been determined.

“We are delighted to share this news,” said Deryl Brown-Archie, vice chair of the WSCC board of directors. “While the Addition project’s design and permitting processes have been moving full steam ahead during this time, it has been a clear priority to select a new GC/CM as expeditiously as possible.”

“Our team is thrilled to be on board with this transformative project,” said Steve Dell’Orto, senior vice president for Clark Construction. “We are working quickly to integrate into the project team and are excited to get to work.”

The Addition project is expected to break ground in 2017 and reach completion in 2020.
