Los Angeles, CA (August 27, 2018) — CBRE announced that Joe Wallace has been promoted to president of the Mountain-Northwest Division. In this role, Mr. Wallace has executive oversight for the Bay Area, Sacramento/Reno, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Albuquerque.
Mr. Wallace was previously executive managing director for CBRE’s Bay Area operations, which is comprised of six offices including the region’s flagship operations in San Francisco. Mr. Wallace succeeds Chris Connelly, who was appointed global president for the company’s Asset Services and Investor Leasing business lines.
“This role presents an opportunity for Joe to expand his leadership responsibilities in the Americas,” said Mike Lafitte, CBRE’s global chief executive officer, Advisory Services, and interim chief executive officer, the Americas. “The Mountain-Northwest Division represents a significant portion of our business in the Americas, and under his capable leadership, we will continue to advance our market-leading positions in each of these important markets, while enhancing our focus on delivering exceptional client outcomes across all of our lines of business.”
With over 30 years of commercial real estate experience, Mr. Wallace has held leadership positions in a wide range of real estate services and investment enterprises. Previously, he led CBRE’s Occupier Advisory and Transaction Services practice in the Washington-Baltimore region. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Wallace served as Senior Managing Director, co-managing CBRE’s Dallas office.
“Joe is a great successor to take over this important business. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him over the last two years, and he’s an outstanding executive in every aspect,” said Mr. Connelly.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Wallace served as chief executive officer and co-founder of the Preferred Group, LLC, a privately held Washington, D.C.-based office provider, which he built into a national platform. He also spent time at CarrAmerica Realty Corporation earlier in his career and was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of HQ Global Workplaces, an international office solutions company with more than 400 locations globally, where he served from 1997 to 2004.
Mr. Wallace received a B.S. in commerce from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
