Walsh Construction Co. Names Elizabeth Rinehart as New General Manager

Rinehart brings more than 18 years of industry experience

SEATTLE (July 31, 2018) – Walsh Construction Co. (WALSH) announces that Elizabeth Rinehart has been named as the new general manager of WALSH’s Washington-based operations. Rinehart, a 13-year employee, succeeds Bill Reid who will remain with the company as WALSH’s president for the Washington region.

With more than 18 years’ experience in the construction industry, Rinehart has established a reputation for her commitment to building sustainable and affordable neighborhoods. Her work has helped provide new housing and services for individuals, families and seniors across King County.

“Elizabeth has demonstrated she is the leader that will help us expand our ability to consistently deliver high quality and high performing buildings in service to our clients,” said Bill Reid, president of WALSH Washington. “She not only has deep experience in sustainable construction but also has a strong personal commitment to serving her community, which, at WALSH, is a highly valued leadership characteristic.”

Rinehart has taken the lead on a number of ambitious projects, including Sparc Apartments at the Spring District in Bellevue, the LEED Gold YWCA Family Village at Issaquah and the award-winning Greenfire Campus, a prominent green project in Seattle designed to LEED Platinum and Gold. Additionally, Rinehart currently serves as WALSH’s representative on the Housing Development Consortium, working to provide affordable housing in Seattle and King County alongside non-profit organizations in the region. She is also involved as a member and volunteer with CREW Seattle & Sound, NAWIC, Habitat for Humanity and the YWCA Seattle|King|Snohomish.

“I am honored to represent a company that has a legacy of building value for our clients and our community,” said Rinehart. “It’s an exciting opportunity to continue building upon the incredible foundation that the WALSH family has created in the Puget Sound region and beyond.”

Rinehart is the first woman to serve as general manager at WALSH; however, she joins 12 other women at the company serving as department and project managers. Of its 121 non-trade employees throughout Washington, women make up 40 percent of department heads and project managers and 29 percent of the total workforce. These numbers exceed industry averages of 31 percent and 9 percent, respectively.
