Vulcan’s Sharon Coleman to Retire in May

After nearly 20 years with Vulcan Real Estate, Sharon Coleman will retire from her role as Senior Director of Commercial Development in May.

“This has been the most challenging and rewarding career that anyone could ask for, and I am so proud of the work that our team has accomplished together over the years. I am happy to be ending my professional career on a high note and look forward to beginning this new chapter of my life,” said Sharon. “To my peers, colleagues, and clients – it has been an absolute honor to collaborate with you to create spaces that will be enjoyed for generations to come.”

Sharon started as a Development Manager with Vulcan Real Estate in 2002 and rose through the ranks, eventually earning her current position leading commercial development. Over the course of her career at Vulcan Real Estate, Sharon has lent her leadership in design and smart development to a number of projects that have changed Seattle’s skyline. She has presided over 9 million square-feet of completed, under construction or planned projects, including numerous award winning office and life sciences buildings. Sharon directed the development of Amazon’s nearly 3 million square foot urban campus in South Lake Union and also oversaw office development for Google and Facebook as well as life sciences research space for notable tenants including the University of Washington School of Medicine.

“I cannot think of another person in our region as admired and accomplished as Sharon. Her projects are immaculately designed, financially successful and exceed market expectations. We owe Sharon a debt of gratitude for her leadership and years of service and wish her all the best in the next phase of her journey,” said Chief Real Estate Officer Ada M. Healey.

Murray Crampton, who joined Vulcan in 2019, and is managing the development of 2 million square feet of office space at 555 Tower and West Main in the Bellevue CBD, will head up commercial development for Vulcan Real Estate upon Sharon’s departure.

“While it is bittersweet to see Sharon leave Vulcan Real Estate, we feel very fortunate to have Murray lead our commercial development efforts moving forward,” added Healey.
