Truebeck Celebrates Topping Out of EBS Building

Truebeck Portland EBS Building

Portland, OR – Truebeck, an industry-leading commercial general contractor, is pleased to announce the topping out of the EBS Building project.

This 46,656 square-foot mixed-use project will provide high-end residences for a family with aging in place needs. The first floor of the project has room for community, retail, and restaurant space. The project itself will use cross-laminated timber in the structure and will be visible on both the interior and exterior. Green spaces and terracotta will also be worked into the design to give the building an overall natural look and feel. The goal of the project is to create a space that benefits both people on the street as well as the residents of the building. Inside, the project will have extensive private patio space, a wine cellar, and a pool.

Located in a downtown environment, the EBS Building project will be built within tight lot lines and delivered using a design-build MEP approach. The architect for the project is Hacker Architects, a locally based architecture firm that is well versed in designing projects similar to the EBS Building.

The Truebeck team took over the project in the preconstruction phase and managed to push the project into construction within a month. Truebeck began work on the project on August, 24 2020.

The topping out marks the completion of the structure of the project. The next phase will be around the façade of the building and prepping for work in the interior.

“This project was bought out in the trade partner community mid-pandemic, and it took a totally transparent collaboration between the Owner/UDP, Hacker, DCI, and Truebeck to ensure design and construction efficiency was achieved to make the project financially viable,” said Truebeck’s Director of Operations Ryan Wood. “Since starting construction, we have battled workforce shortages, escalation, material unavailability, unforeseen conditions underground etc., and nothing has stopped the team from persevering and staying the course both relative to the project cost and schedule. Communication has been paramount, and this is an easy group to communicate with.”

Truebeck anticipates a completion date of November 30, 2021.
