As many major companies are determining their future space needs, Tesla, Inc., is establishing a presence in the Pacific Northwest. The electric car manufacturer has signed a lease for a 245,000 square foot building in Marysville’s Cascade Industrial Center, according to a report by the Puget Sound Business Journal. The new facility, located at 16015 51st Ave. NE, will serve as a parts and assembly plant for the electric car maker, making it Tesla’s first plant in the Pacific Northwest.
The 5.1 million square foot Cascade Industrial Center is a joint development for industry in Marysville and Arlington. The center is expected to create 11,600 jobs by 2040.
The NorthPoint Development’s Cascade Business Park, which houses the Tesla building, is planned to eventually include a nine-building, 4 million square foot complex on 426 acres. With NorthPoint’s nearest development sites located in Northern California, Las Vegas and Denver, this is the firm’s first project in the Pacific Northwest.
Sierra Construction Co. was the general contractor for the Tesla building, and Studio North Architecture designed it. LDC and AHBL were the engineers, while Kirby Electric, AFP Systems, State Mechanical, DK Systems, McFabco, Weatherguard, Panelized Structures and McKee Enterprises served as subcontractors. According to the report, the city of Marysville recently issued permits for the construction of office space in the building.
KBC Advisors’ Matt Wood and Hans Vieser as well as Kidder Mathews’ Matthew P. Henn and Matt Hagen are the brokers representing the development.
