Seattle, Wash. (June 30, 2021) – Stratus Surfaces has signed an eight-year lease at First Park North Kent. The 61,999-square-foot industrial property is located at 19014 64th Avenue South in Kent, Washington with immediate access to the West Valley Highway. Kidder Mathews First Vice President Matt McLennan, CCIM, represented the company in the transaction.
Stratus Surfaces is a wholesale importer and distributor of natural and manufactured stone. Since opening last year, the company has been on a rapid growth path with flagship locations in Seattle and Austin. Now, Co-CEO’s Peter Pental and Luke Spiller are expanding further, adding offices in Kent and Oklahoma City.
The Kent location will include a showroom of hand-selected slabs of natural stones, Stratus Quartz, Stratus Porcelain, and Enigma Luxury Surfaces to be used in kitchens and bathrooms, as well as fireplaces and custom outdoor spaces.
“I’m thrilled to participate in Stratus Surface’s continued growth on a national scale,” McLennan says. “Despite being in the market only a few years, their presence and foothold is already being felt. This new location is just the beginning, and I’m honored to have played a part in making this happen.”
The 50,000-100,000-square-foot segment of the market has “several choices for tenants,” according to McLennan, “which is a rare change from historical trends.” He says it is still a landlord’s market; however, he was able to create competition amongst several availabilities, which allowed him to leverage a better-than-market deal for Stratus Surfaces.
