Seattle’s Hawk Tower in Pioneer Square is slated to gain a new tenant starting in January. The consulting firm Slalom will be relocating its headquarters from the Exchange Building in downtown Seattle to Hawk Tower in Pioneer Square, according to a report from the Puget Sound Business Journal. This move was made possible through a direct lease agreement with the building’s owner, Steinhauer Properties.

Located at 255 S. King St., Hawk Tower offers views of Puget Sound, the city’s downtown skyline and the Stadium District, home to the Seahawks, Mariners and Sounders. The main tower sits atop the development’s podium base, and the structure shares the parking garage, conference rooms and other facilities with the adjacent Hilton Embassy Suites, according to Steinhauer’s website. The project was completed in February 2018.

Slalom has not yet released the exact square footage they will occupy at Hawk Tower, according to the report. However, it has been revealed that the firm will occupy multiple floors within the building. Additionally, following the relocation, Hawk Tower will be rebranded from “Avalara Hawk Tower” to “Slalom Hawk Tower.”

Avalara is a software company that offers a variety of tax compliance automation services to businesses, according to the firm’s website. Its cloud-based tax calculation software applies rates based on geolocation, item taxability, new legislation and tax regulations. The company provides services to more than 30,000 business and government customers in more than 90 countries around the world.

Earlier this year, Avalara, Inc., listed four floors in the tower for sublease, according to The Registry’s previous reporting. A brochure from CBRE showed marketing information for floors 10 through 14, which were marked as available. Each of those floors totals about 19,000 square feet.

Slalom is a global business and technology consulting company, according to the firm’s website. The company offers services in sectors such as financial, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, retail, technology and more. The firm operates in seven countries and 44 markets and is backed by close partnerships with more than 400 leading technology providers.
