People On The Move – New Hires, Promotions at Berger Partnership

Two staff members are recognized with promotions for their contribution to the firm, and we welcome three new hires, Kaiyue Fan, Christine Abbott and Shannon Leslie. Anna O’Connell is promoted to Associate and Stacy Rowland is promoted to Accounting Manager.

Promotions:

Stacy Rowland, Accounting Manager
Stacy has served as the firm’s bookkeeper since joining in 2005. Her invaluable contributions to project and firm administration are key to the success of Berger Partnership. She is a Certified Design Firm Administrator since 2001 and served as Washington chapter and national president of the Society for Design Administration. Stacy is an integral team member involved in all levels of firm management and support.

Anna O’Connell, Associate
Anna joined the firm in 2016 and has since taken on some of the firm’s most complicated projects. She is currently managing the Capitol Hill Transit Oriented Development project, LifeBridge Mixed-Use Development and a renovation for the Seattle Tennis Club. Her wide-ranging project experience includes multifamily developments, hospitals and higher educational facilities. She holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington and is co-chair of the UW’s Professional Advisory Committee.

New Hires:

Kaiyue Fan, Landscape Design Staff
Kaiyue joined the firm mid-year 2017 and brings strong graphic and computer rendering skills learned while earning her Master of Landscape Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design. She holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Tongji University, China, and won the Student Display Competition at the Southern New England APA Conference for her work on the Central Falls Comprehensive Master Plan Project. Kaiyue is currently working on the WSU Plant Sciences Building in Pullman, Riverfront Park Pavilion in Spokane, Zillah High School, and UPS Welcome Center in Tacoma.

Christine Abbott, Landscape Design Staff
Christine comes to us with experience as both a teacher and practitioner of landscape architecture and architecture. She most recently served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Washington University in St. Louis. Her current workload includes the Olmsted Park Study, Totem Lake Park Phase 1, and several residential projects. She holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture from Harvard University and earned her undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of Virginia and a master of architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Shannon Leslie, Project Manager
Shannon re-joined the firm as a project manager the later part of 2017. She has a passion for green stormwater infrastructure and plant palette development with an emphasis on native plants. She is a member of the Seattle AIA Task Force on Homelessness and is currently working on the Midtown Mixed-Use development, Trinity Condos and several residential projects. She attended the University of Washington, where she received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Visual Arts, and earned her master’s degree in landscape architecture from the University of Oregon. She interned with Berger Partnership the summer of 2009.
