Seattle, Washington (November 6, 2017) – During its annual conference, the Northwest Construction Consumer Council (NWCCC) recognized PCL Construction Services, Inc. for several projects.
The NWCCC, an organization focusing on more cost-effective construction practices, held the conference on November 2nd at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Here members shared information on all aspects of the capital project and maintenance process. The conference theme was “Success With Today’s Workforce.”
During the afternoon session, NWCCC’s Distinguished Project Awards were presented to recognize both public and private projects based on excellence in engineering, design, and construction, as well as safety and sustainability.
PCL Construction was recognized for general contracting on three projects:
- Alaska Airlines Concourse C Lounge at Sea-Tac Airport – Private projects under $10 million
2. Delta Air Lines Seattle Sky Club project at Sea-Tac Airport – Private projects over $10 million
3. King County Factoria Recycling and Transfer Station – Green Project Award for sustainability
“I can’t think of a more deserving project to win the Green Project Award,” said Jeff Pietz, PCL Construction’s project manager for the Factoria Recycling and Transfer Station project. “The transfer station went from a facility without recycling capabilities to a facility that can divert every piece of recyclable and compostable material that is delivered, while also reducing the number of trucks on the road headed to the landfill.”
“We are truly honored by these awards today,” said Aaron Wiehe, vice president and district manager of PCL Construction. “We are extremely proud of our project teams, who day in and day out, build beautiful facilities for the public and our clients to enjoy.”
