Seattle, Washington (December 12, 2018) – PCL Construction Services, Inc. and the project team celebrated the topping out of the structure of the Murano Senior Living tower on December 12th, 2018. This new 24-story tower, owned by Columbia Pacific Advisors, will feature 243 residential units, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, as well as amenity spaces to create a complete senior living community. The property is located at 620 Terry Ave. in the First Hill area near both Harborview’s and Swedish’s medical centers.
The 387,000-square-foot, cast-in-place concrete structure was designed by Ankrom Moisan Architects and is being built by PCL Construction, the general contractor. The facility will be upscale and modern and will offer residents a café, multiple bars and restaurants, art studio, card room, gaming area, tech lounge, health and wellness center, barber shop, salon, gym, theatre, auditorium, and multiple outdoor terraces.
“We’re really proud to be a part of this project as it will bring much needed housing, in a great location, for our growing senior population,” said Aaron Wiehe, vice president and district manager of PCL Construction.
“With 16,900 cubic yards of concrete, 2,000 tons of rebar, and over 230,000 worker hours to date, this project has demanded attention to detail and astute coordination on site,” continued Wiehe. “We’ve forged great relationships between our team, our subcontracting partners, and the community.”
The project is expected to be completed Fall 2019. However, with the leasing office and sample unit construction underway, the owner anticipates opening the sales office in Spring 2019.
The project team includes: CalPortland, Bergelectric, Kulchin, McCann Construction, Henson Masonry, BV Glazing, WIS, Enderis, WA Commercial Painters, GreatFloors, Otis Elevator, Bruce Matson Company, Red Hawk Fire Protection, and Holaday-Parks.
