Four-Story Mixed-Use Building to Feature Studio, One-Bedroom Units and 25,000 Sq. Ft New PCC Community Market Grocery Store; PCC Slated to Re-Open in 2019

Seattle, Wash., January 15, 2018 – Madison Development Group (www.mdgllc.net) (MDG), a Seattle-based firm specializing in commercial and multi-family real estate development, today announced the start of construction at Luna, a four-story multi-family residential building in West Seattle.

Located at 2749 California Avenue SW, the new mixed-use building will feature three floors of apartment homes above one floor of ground-level retail, which will be occupied by popular community-owned grocery store, PCC Community Markets (www.pccmarkets.com).

“As MDG’s third multifamily project in West Seattle, we’re excited to showcase our commitment to high-quality design and construction—and thrilled to soon welcome PCC as Luna’s highly-anticipated anchor tenant,” said Madison Development Group owner and co-founder, Jim Gallaugher.

The Luna: A Vibrant Community Featuring Locally-Grown, Community-Owned PCC Natural Markets
Featuring 108 units, including a mix of studio and one-bedroom apartment homes, Luna will include 27 apartments available at affordable rates between 50 to 80 percent of area median income under the City of Seattle’s Multifamily Property Tax Exemption (MFTE) Program.

As Luna’s anchor tenant, PCC Community Markets will open a new 25,000 sq. ft. space on the first floor—providing fresh, local and seasonal products including all-natural foods, organic produce and natural meats to residents and neighbors, and replacing its former store at the same location.

CHINN Construction is the general contractor and Hewitt is the architect. The interior designer is Two 9 Design. The building and market are slated to open by late summer 2019.

In addition to Luna, MDG has developed several multi-family projects in the Seattle-area, including: Element 42 and Spruce in West Seattle, 229 Queen Anne in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, Summit at Madison Park in Madison Park and Excelsior on Capitol Hill.
