Julie Purnell Joins CBRE Hotels as Managing Director to Expand the Northwest and Mountain Advisory Practice

San Francisco, California – Aug. 1, 2017 – CBRE announced that Julie Purnell has joined CBRE Hotels as managing director. Based in the firm’s San Francisco office, Ms. Purnell will bolster the firm’s advisory practice in the Northwest and Mountain regions.

A widely recognized and accomplished industry veteran, Ms. Purnell has more than 25 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, acquisition and disposition due diligence, development, and asset management in the hotel sector. She will work closely with Chris Kraus, managing director and northwest and mountain advisory practice leader, CBRE Hotels.

Ms. Purnell joins CBRE Hotels from Destination Hotels where she most recently served as senior vice president of business development. During her tenure at Destination Hotels, the largest independent hotel & resort management company in the U.S., she was responsible for increasing the company’s portfolio through sourcing opportunities, negotiating agreements, closing transactions, and establishing the company’s presence on the West Coast.

Prior to her tenure at Destination Hotels, Ms. Purnell was a senior vice president at Denihan Investments, where she was responsible for increasing the New York-based independent hotel company’s visibility on the West Coast and achieving investment initiatives. Previously, she also held senior acquisition and development positions at Marriott International, Loews Hotels, House of Blues, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
