GGLO receives IIDA Northern Pacific INAward for PacWest Offices

Blurring the lines between nature, technology and human experience.

SEATTLE, WA, October 4, 2017 – The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Northern Pacific Chapter named the Microsoft PacWest Office a recipient of the 2017 INAward in the INMass Micro category, which recognizes projects completed in corporate, not-for-profit, and institutional practice. The annual regional design competition honors interior design excellence and innovation. PacWest is a design collaboration between GGLO Design and Studio 8 Architects.

“What I love about this project is that every time you turn a corner there is something new [design element] and unexpected to discover,” praised by jury member, Margaret Portillo, the Head of the Interior Design department in the College of Design, Construction and Planning at the University of Florida.

PacWest is an evolution from a traditional private office program. The new modern, open environment creates an inspiring space that encourages collaboration. The project encompasses two floors — an elegant and welcoming customer space to showcase and demonstrate innovation, and a comfortable, flexible employee workplace that promotes creativity and collaboration.

The upper floor houses the Commercial Sales and Technology Center, a space that serves as a premier technology showcase for customers. The design blurs the lines between nature, technology, and the human experience using natural wood and fabric finishes merged with concrete, metal, glass, and a variety of art and graphic patterns. With an ever-changing work culture in technology, the goal of the employee workplace was to create a comfortable environment that inspires team collaboration. The design captures a modern interpretation of office layouts – an open workplace occupied by unassigned seating.

The design of PacWest is based on the idea that the workplace should be just as alive, vibrant, and inviting as the places we live. Elegant design considers the variety of needs that people have to do their best work, and responds with flexible options that nurture that creative culture. PacWest is an engaging environment that brings employees together and reflects the evolved sophistication of the company.
