The Puget Sound area has seen another hotel trade hands, this time in Arlington, in a sign that investors continue to be interested in what the region has to offer. The 97-room Hotel Arlington was purchased for $13 million, or approximately $134,020 per room, according to Snohomish County public records. The sellers were Jae Eun So and Jum Sook So, a couple from Marysville, and the buyer was an entity affiliated with CMJ66 Corp., which is associated with Byong Yu, Chae Kun Kim, Jeannie L. So and Mia L. Kim.

Located at 16710 Smokey Point Blvd., the property sits on the city’s south end, minutes from Arlington Municipal Airport and just off the Interstate 5 interchange with Washington Route 531. The hotel is surrounded by major retailers, including Walmart, Target, Costco and Best Buy. Out of its total room count, the property features 36 suites and 61 guest rooms, according to LoopNet. The building was constructed in 2000.

The hospitality market throughout the Puget Sound region has recorded several sales transactions in recent months.

In one such deal earlier this year, the Pebblebrook Hotel Trust announced that it closed on the sale of the 125-room Hotel Vintage Seattle for $33.7 million, or about $269,600 per room, according to previous reporting from The Registry. The buyer of the property was Aliso Viejo, Calif.-based Pacifica Hotels, and the purchase marked the company’s first expansion into the Seattle market. In 2022, the company acquired a hotel property in Portland from Pebblebrook for $32.9 million.

Another deal that took place earlier this year was the Silver Cloud Hotel at Bellevue, which was sold for $28 million, or approximately $184,210 per room. The seller was an entity affiliated with Silver Cloud, Inc., and the buyer was an entity affiliated with Bellevue Hotel Group LLC out of Richland. Located at 14632 SE Eastgate Way, the building totals 152 rooms.
