A national homebuilder is further extending its holdings in the Puget Sound. In a recent sales transaction, at least 13 acres of land in Bothell was purchased for $23.5 million, according to Snohomish County public records. The seller is an entity that shares a mailing address with Arcadia Homes, LLC, in Lake Stevens, and the buyer is an entity affiliated with D.R. Horton, a homebuilder headquartered in Arlington, Texas. The sale was recorded on Feb. 17.

The property is located on the northern end of the city, with addresses including 524, 618 and 704 184th St SW. Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery borders those parcels to the south and Lynnwood High School bounds the area to the north. Records also show that the land includes at least one single-family rental property in the form of a mobile home.

D.R. Horton has been in operation since 1978, according to the company’s website. In that time, the firm has delivered more than 965,000 homes throughout the nation. The company operates in 33 states and 109 markets. The firm has a number of homes throughout the greater Seattle area, including Bothell. Any plans for the development of the land in this recent purchase have not yet been released.

Last year, Bothell saw a similar land grab on the city’s west end.

An entity affiliated with MainVue Homes purchased 14 acres of land, most of which was undeveloped, for $24 million, according to previous reporting from The Registry. The property included a number of parcels at 3924 Jewell Road. The land is situated between Interstate 405 and State Route 9 in a mostly residential neighborhood, and a single-story building originally constructed in 1938 was the single structure on the site involved in the sale.
