Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce Grows Seattle Office in Answer to Rise in International Commercial Real Estate Investment

SEATTLE, July 25, 2016 – In response to a sharp increase in international commercial investment in the Puget Sound area, Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce today announced the addition of Evan Cohn to the investment capital market team of the Seattle office.

“We have recently seen a major rise in population and employment throughout Seattle,” said Dave Magee, Washington region market leader of Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce. “There are nearly 35 cranes in the skyline and 15 more in Bellevue – the city is being transformed right before our eyes. Cohn’s array of expertise in business development and sales is exactly what we need while we position our team for the current growth.”

As an associate broker, Cohn joins the Seattle Investment Capital Market team led by Gary Danklefsen and Gordon Ahalt, who have more than 70 years combined experience, and have closed over $5 billion in financing and capital investments. Cohn will concentrate on the office segment of commercial real estate and will work with owners to position their buildings to appraise, finance, and/or sell. A primary focus for him will be to engage investors from across the world.

“Seattle has become a top choice for international capital investments,” said Danklefsen. “As the city has grown, we have seen it become positioned among other leading cities like New York, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Seattle has reached the stratum that makes it attractive to international investors.”

Cohn’s previous experience includes four years in sales and marketing in the medical device, telecommunications and the restaurant industry. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, and has extensive experience in marketing and sales within agency environments. He is a Washington native who has deep ties within the Seattle business community; his family owns and operates Seattle based Consolidated Restaurants. Cohn was a Graduate Assistant for the men’s basketball program at Seattle University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Lynn University where he was the Captain and Point Guard for the Division II Fighting Knights Basketball team.
