CoreNet Global Washington State Chapter Announces 2016 Award Winners

Recognizing the amazing contribution that our members make to our industry and the local ecosystem is a key part of our culture in CoreNet. This is the second year that we are recognizing some key contributors to our chapter, as we continue to recognize and celebrate the contribution that help elevate and grow our organization and our industry here in Washington State.

Young Leader of the Year – Dane Larsen (CBRE)
This award recognizes the Young Leader of the Year in CoreNet Global Washington State Chapter who showed a dedication and enthusiasm for her/his work, exemplifies excellence and should be considered ‘one to watch’ in the broad field of Corporate Real Estate (CRE) in any member category.

Dane is an industry-leading corporate real estate professional who is constantly striving to improve his team, his products and himself. Over the past year, Dane has led multiple initiatives that have significantly improved the occupancy planning and workplace management at Microsoft.

Workplace of the Year – Microsoft Building 43
This category recognizes the Workplace in Washington State who made outstanding and distinguished contribution to his/her company and to the industry and includes achievements in contributing to company success through the design and application of an engaging workplace solution or environment.

Building 43 exemplifies Microsoft’s efforts to constantly evolve the workplace for employees, creating new standards for work and collaboration. Originating as an existing base building design with individually offices and originally completed in the 90’s. The building was completely retro fitted into a modern workplace with team based spaces, recreational and retreat areas as well as active meeting and gathering hubs for the occupants.

Supplier of the Year – Legacy Group (Seattle Show Room)
This category recognizes the Corporate Real Estate Supplier who made outstanding and distinguished contribution to his/her company and to the industry. And includes achievements in contributing to company success while exceeding client engagement and value.

Legacy Group is recognized for their new downtown Seattle showroom, where clients are able to conveniently select all products they needed for new furniture, flooring, paint and artwork for their new office remodel in one stop. This saved the client time (less meetings and coordination with various suppliers) and money during installation (less trip charges and downtime with various trades).

Presenter of the Year – Roberto Yglesias (Buildingi)
Roberto Yglesias gave an extremely informative “The Future of Collaboration” presentation that helped our chapter understand the several technology collaboration platforms in Washington, ranking as our most engaging speaker in 2016.

Program Coordinator of the Year – Angela Thomlinson (Catalyst Workplace Activation)
Angela Tomlinson masterfully executed the complex “Challenge Seattle” luncheon, which included guest speaker Former Governor Christine Gregoire and panel discussion that audiences scored as the best program of 2016.

The Washington State Chapter also recognized an outstanding Board and General member during the ceremony:

Board Member Recognition – John Coates (Buildingi)
John has had such a positive impact on the chapter board, and is instrumental in so many ways in supporting our chapter. He helps drive sponsorship, working on University Relations, the annual golf tournament and has an almost perfect attendance at every CoreNet event we hold! John is an amazing advocate for the profession and the organization, being an incredible resource to everyone in CoreNet, and never failing to show up with a smile and good humor!

Member Recognition – Michael Dunford (Haworth Inc.)
Michael has continued to build on the work of our Education and Program Committee. He has brought in support from the overall membership and infused new ideas into finding value for members and sponsors.
