Seattle, Washington – April 23, 2018 – The founders of GreenWorks Realty, the nation’s first green real estate firm, announce the launch of their new venture, Beneficial Ventures (BV). BV is Washington’s first real estate Social Purpose Corporation and pending certified B Corp. Beneficial Ventures joins the ranks of more than 2000 B Corps worldwide in a growing movement of businesses committed to performing with a triple bottom line.
“We are thrilled to launch Beneficial Ventures as a certified B Corporation that gives us a platform to meet the highest standards of business practices for public good. B Corp certification is to sustainable business what Fair Trade is to coffee,” says co-founder, Matt Cone.
Beneficial Ventures is designed to give back to the community it serves by pledging up to 30% of commissions to sustainability projects focused on the environment and education. These projects are in partnership with the Beneficial Reinvestment Fund and partner organizations here in the Pacific Northwest.
BV has closed over $130 million worth of transactions since 2007 and their current client portfolio represents over $125M including a 40+ home eco-village and a healing retreat center.
