Shorenstein Announces 2018 LEED Certifications

SAN FRANCISCO, (Feb. 25, 2019) – Shorenstein Properties LLC (“Shorenstein”), an owner and operator of high-quality office, residential and mixed-use properties across the U.S., today announced that it received eight LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certifications across its properties in 2018. The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (“USGBC”), is the leading certification for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

A Platinum-level corporate member of the USBGC and an Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR for commercial buildings partner, Shorenstein is a leading advocate for sustainability within the real estate industry. In 2018, Shorenstein certified eight buildings, including four buildings that were LEED certified for the first time, and four more that achieved re-certification. All buildings earned their certification under the “Performance Score to LEED Certification” pathway, the latest version of the rating system that allows for annual certification based on consistent, dynamic performance tracking on the Arc Performance Score platform. With these certifications, Shorenstein has achieved 27 LEED-certified buildings totaling more than 15 million square feet.

First-time Certifications:

  • 1700 Market in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Platinum
  • Kruse Woods V in Portland, Oregon – Gold
  • One North State in Chicago, Illinois – Gold
  • One Oxford Centre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Gold

Re-certifications:

  • 188 Spear in San Francisco, California – Platinum
  • Capella Tower in Minneapolis, Minnesota – Gold
  • Kruse Oaks III in Portland, Oregon – Gold
  • Lincoln Tower in Portland, Oregon – Gold

Of note, 188 Spear was featured on the Arc Performance Score platform as a “Top Performer,” placing it in the top five buildings for all LEED office projects currently registered on the platform.
