Sigmund Joins RISE Properties Trust as Firm Continues to Grow its Real Estate Portfolio in the Pacific Northwest
Seattle, Wash. (October 12, 2017) – RISE Properties Trust (www.risepropertiestrust.com), a Canadian-based real estate investment trust, today announced that industry veteran Barrett Sigmund has been named President of the firm.
In his new role, Sigmund will draw upon more than 15 years’ experience in the real estate industry to lead the team at RISE and Thrive, its associated property management company, including overseeing acquisitions, dispositions, risk management, property management and investor relations.

Previously, Sigmund served as Senior Director of Investments at Security Properties (SP), where he led the investments business unit and more than tripled the acquisitions volume—from approximately $250 million to $800 million in the three years from 2014 to 2016. His business unit also partnered with 18 unique institutional equity partners and typically had more than $100 million in ongoing renovation work taking place at a given time.
Sigmund holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington’s Michael G. Foster School of Business, as well as a Certificate in Real Estate from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Communication from Allegheny College.
