Quadrant Meets Seattle Market Demand for High-Tech Homes by Making Home Technology and Automation Standard

From Smart Thermostats to Smart Lighting Controls, Quadrant’s New Standard Package Offers Connected Homes Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Other Virtual Assistants

BELLEVUE, Wash.–June 07, 2017–As buyers in the Seattle market seek increasingly connected homes, local builder Quadrant Homes is launching a new standard for premium home design. Future Quadrant communities will be at the forefront of what it means to provide smart, high-tech living for homebuyers, thanks to a new Home Technology Package that will come standard. From smart thermostats to smart lighting controls, buyers in future communities will be able to purchase homes that are built to reflect their connected lifestyles.

“Seattle is an innovative city, and every day in this market we see buyers who want the convenience of a connected home,” said Ken Krivanec, president of Quadrant Homes. “We decided to make that convenience standard in every new community, so from their first day in the home, buyers can connect with the most popular home automation features.”

Highlights of Quadrant’s new standard Home Technology Package include:

  • Access and Security – With the Ring video doorbell that allows buyers to see and speak with visitors from anywhere, Schlage front door locks with built-in alarm sensors and smartphone control, and a Liftmaster Wi-Fi driven garage door opener that buyers can monitor, open, and close with a swipe on their smartphone, buyers (and their families) can rest easy.
  • Comfort and Control – Smart thermostats and programmable lighting from Caséta Wireless will give buyers customization and comfort with little-to-no effort. The featured Nest 3 Thermostat learns buyer’s preferred temperature patterns over time to eventually program itself. The lighting controls can be personalized into schedules, scenes, and controlled by location (geofencing). Caséta can also control optional window shades for further comfort and control.
  • WiFi Connectivity – Home are pre-wired for a router, plus an access point on each level for internet throughout the home. Homes are Smart TV ready with hard-wired CAT 6 network jacks for gaming and optimal streaming of services like Hulu and HBO GO.
  • Integration with Virtual Assistants – All features are app-controlled, and many integrate with popular virtual assistants like Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit.

“This package is great for buyers of all technical knowledge levels,” said Krivanec. “Many of these solutions are plug and play, and those buyers who want even more home tech can expand the system themselves, or work with our third-party providers to automate and connect their home to their heart’s content.”

A Bellevue-based builder in its 48th year, Quadrant sells premium new homes primarily along Seattle’s popular Eastside tech corridor, with current communities located near campuses for Microsoft, Google, and other major tech employers. The Home Automation package will be included standard in all future Quadrant communities; new buyers in current Quadrant communities can choose to add these features to presale homes. Quadrant buyers seeking even more smart home features can add additional components, including the Sonos audio system, Lutron automated window shades, and live fireplaces.
