Newmark Knight Frank Attracts Leading Greater-Seattle Retail Expert Sisters

Seattle, WA (June 6, 2019) — Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) is proud to announce two prominent additions to its retail platform—Seattle-based Senior Managing Directors Erika Koehler and Anne Marie Koehler. The industry expert sisters who, individually and collectively, are regarded as the most accomplished in the greater Puget Sound area, are leaders in urban retail and mixed-use developments.

“Recruiting top talent is pivotal to NKF’s strategic growth plans and the addition of this accomplished urban retail team allows NKF to augment an already highly successful national retail platform. Attracting skilled talent in core markets is fundamental to NKF’s expanding national and global presence,” stated Tim O’Keefe, executive managing director of NKF’s Seattle and Bellevue offices.

With more than 18 years of commercial real estate experience, Erika Koehler has a strong record of successful completion of landlord listing and tenant representation engagements throughout the Seattle region. She offers extensive background working with some of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts and shopping center developers.

Anne Marie Koehler

Anne Marie Koehler has held senior positions with CBRE and, most recently, JLL in Seattle and has over 13 years of experience specializing in retail brokerage services. She successfully represents both landlords and tenants and has worked on several large community and neighborhood shopping centers, providing awareness on national retailer trends and requirements.

“I believe our deep roots in retail will be the key to growing NKF’s urban market presence in Seattle and throughout the region and we are thrilled at this opportunity,” added Erika Koehler. “NKF offers the technology and platform to empower brokers to offer our clients best-in-class advice and market analysis while also enabling a nimble approach in responding to changing client requirements.”

As daughters of prominent real estate developer Steve Koehler, who built the 500,000-square-foot Westlake Center mixed-use project, among others, Erika and Anne Marie Koehler were raised in the commercial real estate business. “We were growing up during the construction of Westlake Center and that experience fostered our love for retail and mixed-use real estate,” concluded Anne Marie Koehler.

“The Puget Sound area is an important growing urban market for retail and these experts offer a local perspective, exceptional regional and national relationships on both the occupier and owner/investor sides and 30 years of combined urban and mixed-use retail experience,” added O’Keefe. “The Koehler sisters are well known as the hardest working and smartest retail professionals in the region and we are proud to have them join NKF and its accomplished real estate advisors.”
