Newmark Knight Frank Appoints Mike Kirner as Director of PR & Communications, Northwest Region

San Francisco, CA (February 4, 2019) — Newmark Knight Frank (NKF) is pleased to announce Mike Kirner, as Director of Public Relations & Communications, Northwest Region. In this role, Kirner will oversee public relations, communications, social media and advertising for NKF’s 10 Northern California offices, as well as the Seattle and Portland markets.

Longtime Bay Area veteran of the commercial real estate, technology, and retail industries, Kirner has twenty years of experience in communications and four specifically in the commercial real estate industry – managing public relations, content creation, advertising, events, media relations and social media platforms.

NKF Executive Vice President of Northwest Operations, Mark Bollozos, said of Kirner, “Mike’s creative and multi-faceted marketing and public relations expertise is of great benefit to Newmark Knight Frank and its clients. Previously at Cushman & Wakefield’ Norcal HQ, Kirner managed public relations, content creation, press relations and the firm’s social media platforms. During his tenure, he facilitated a culture of collaboration between service lines, research and social teams working to create online publicity, social sharing, creative content and regional thought leadership.
Kirner’s communications career also comprises over a decade of experience in the shopping center and retail industries, having held senior management roles for The Macerich Company, Codding Investments and SIMON.

As a first generation German/American, he lived ten years near Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Kirner earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Advertising and a Minor in English Literature from the University of Florida. He was a member of the University of Florida Gator club soccer team and the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity soccer team in Gainesville.
