SEATTLE – In a reflection of Seattle and the Puget Sound region’s strong commercial real estate activity, NAIOP Washington State recently became the fourth-largest chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate association.
NAIOP Washington State is committed to members’ professional success and to an overall, long-term positive environment for business and development in the region.
“Our robust membership is reflective of a strong commercial real estate community in the region,” says NAIOP Washington State President Kristin Jensen, Vice President of Development, Touchstone. “Our goal is to be the foundation behind that community, building the future NAIOP WA that supports members, engages individuals and organizations in the CRE industry, leads in advocacy, fosters individual growth, and prepares members for potential seismic industry changes.”
In 2017, NAIOP WA was honored as Chapter of the Year for its new website, member communications, government affairs efforts and member support. Following up on that success, the organization launched a free app in September 2017, transforming the way members network and providing even more access, services and voice to members and event participants. Launching with the Night of the Stars finalists and the inaugural People’s Choice Awards, the app has already proven to be popular with more than 25,000 clicks in four weeks to register for events as well as to network via the members-only directory and messaging features. Additional features launching in early 2018 will allow committees to communicate directly via the app, and enable members to access government affairs news and action items.
NAIOP WA helps members expand their networks through highly regarded industry networking and educational events, committee leadership opportunities, and tailored small-group events such as new-member meet-ups and mentorship programs. The organization invests in future membership through student and Developing Leader memberships, the annual Real Estate Challenge, and a focus on diversity. NAIOP is also the most powerful industry advocate, with unparalleled influence at the local, state and federal levels. Members help form policies, receive insider updates on important legislative issues and gain access to leadership.
