MainStreet Property Group Secures Poquitos Mexican Restaurant, Prime Steakhouse as First Retailers at ‘The Junction’ Mixed-Use Project in Downtown Bothell

Bothell is First Expansion Location for Both Locally-Owned Restaurants; Meets Growing Demand in Bothell for High-Quality Retail & Dining

The Junction Retail Space Now 70% Leased; Strong Tenant Interest Around Two Remaining Spaces

Bothell, Wash., May 19, 2017 – MainStreet Property Group LLC (www.mspgroupllc.com), a full-service Kirkland-based developer, today announced that two popular new restaurants will be opening their next location at The Junction (www.explorethejunction.com) in downtown Bothell: Capitol Hill’s Poquitos Mexican Restaurant (www.vivapoquitos.com) and Redmond’s Prime Steakhouse (www.redmondprime.com). These new restaurants represent the first expansion location for both locally-owned restaurants.

Located in the heart of downtown Bothell at 18505 Bothell Way NE, the 5,000 sq. ft. Poquitos and 3,200 sq. ft. Prime Steakhouse restaurants are slated to open later this fall the Junction. The six-story building also features 130 new apartment homes.

“The demand in downtown Bothell for great dining options is significant and we are so pleased that Poquitos and Prime decided to join us at the Junction,” said MainStreet Property Group President Kelly Price. “We were very selective about our tenants and worked hard to curate the retail space at the Junction with the details and design features important to high-quality local restaurateurs while also being an amazing amenity for our residents at the Junction.”

In addition to The Junction, MainStreet has developed several nearby projects including the 203-unit Six Oaks residential mixed-use building in downtown Bothell—whose Amaro Bistro has seen great success—and a 115-unit building, The (104) (www.liveatthe104.com). MainStreet also recently sold a project that will become 45 luxury townhomes in downtown Bothell, and owns several properties fronting NE 185th, Horse Creek Plaza and the soon-to-be constructed Pop Keeney Blvd.

Popular Capitol Hill Mexican Restaurant Chooses Downtown Bothell for First Expansion
Poquitos owners and local restauranteurs James Weimann and Deming Maclise are well-known for their popular Seattle restaurants including Parisian-inspired Bastille, Scottish pub/scotch bar Macleod’s, Mediterranean-inspired Stoneburner in Ballard and Capitol Hill’s German pub Rhein Haus.

The decision to expand out of Seattle and to MainStreet Property Group’s Junction building in Bothell was determined by the developer’s strong commitment to creating a tailored retail environment reflective of tenant’s needs and customer’s desires.

“At the Junction, it’s clear there is a deliberate focus on creating an urban landscape that promotes community and builds a neighborhood through a blend of restaurants, hotels, parks and trails,” said Poquitos co-owner James Weimann

Poquitos creates authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with ingredients that are the best of both worlds – locally from Northwest farms and ranches, as well as traditional items that must be sourced directly from Mexico. Handmade tortillas rolled and pressed from fresh masa, guacamole made to order only from fresh avocados, and classic presentations of Oaxacan mole negro, Mexico-city inspired tacos al pastor and coastal ceviche are just some menu items diners can expect to find.

Locally-Owned Popular Redmond Steakhouse Expands to Bothell
Prime Steakhouse’s 3,200 sq. ft. location in the Junction will be similar in look and feel to its Redmond location and will include high ceilings and large bay windows, as well as outdoor seating.

“When the opportunity to expand Prime came, we immediately looked to Bothell,” said Jason Bailey, owner at Prime Steakhouse. “With the city’s dynamic residential growth and downtown expansion, it seemed like a perfect fit. After spending time getting to know the area it became an easy and exciting decision to join the Bothell community.”

Prime Steakhouse is a contemporary version of a classic American steakhouse, dedicated to serving the highest quality steak available—offering custom, 35-day dry aged Prime steaks within the top two percent of all natural USDA-certified Omaha beef—as well as 21-day, wet-aged all-natural upper choice options.

Located in the northeast corner of The Junction, Prime Steakhouse will also provide creative poultry, seafood and vegetarian dishes made from the finest and freshest ingredients—as well as an extensive wine, beer and craft cocktail selections with twice-daily happy hour.

The Junction: Continuing to Raise the Bar on Bothell Living
The City of Bothell is in the midst of the largest publically-led downtown revitalizations in Washington State. As part of the vision for its downtown core, the city sold nearly one million sq. ft. of land for redevelopment and has completed public investments totaling more than $150 million. Currently, the City estimates that more than $350 million in private investment has been built, is planned or is under construction within Bothell.

The Junction is located in the heart of this redevelopment effort along Bothell Way and is adjacent to the redeveloped historic McMenamin’s Anderson School, which features restaurants and outdoor dining, a movie theatre, live music, large indoor swimming pool and shopping. The six-story, mixed-use community includes 10,000 sq. ft. of ground level retail, 130 apartment homes and 30,000 sq. ft. of Class A commercial office space.
