Sustainable Residential Building in Forbes Creek Neighborhood Designed to Embrace the Natural Environment, Channel Love of the Outdoors into Indoor Ambience
Kirkland, Wash. – MainStreet Property Group LLC, a full-service Kirkland-based real estate developer, announced the start of construction at The Pine, a new seven-story multi-family building in Kirkland, Wash. The building is slated to open in Summer 2023.
Located at 10930 116th Avenue NE in Kirkland’s Forbes Creek Neighborhood, near Totem Lake, the newest project by MainStreet features 140 apartment homes with ten percent of units participating in the ARCH affordable housing program.
“The Pine is perfectly situated near the revitalized Totem Lake Mall and Downtown Kirkland with convenient freeway access, while still set in a neighborhood with a park-like setting. What I really love is that the design of The Pine uniquely dovetails with the surrounding forested area and builds upon nature. Because of this we’ve created design elements unlike any other community in the area,” said MainStreet Property Group President Kelly Price.
The Pine: A Place for Residents to ‘Put Down Roots & Grow’
Designed as an urban sanctuary offering warmth and respite to residents from their busy, ever-changing environments, The Pine embraces its natural surroundings and is focused on promoting healthy living with amenities celebrating home, balance and nature, including a biophilic themed lobby and an apothecary themed club room with other interesting spaces designed to complement the lives of the future residents.
With an ideal location near some of the Pacific Northwest’s largest employers in downtown Kirkland and the pedestrian-friendly Juanita neighborhood, Bellevue and Seattle with I-405 commuting access within a mile, The Pine is also primely-located for discovering nature with parks, the Cross Kirkland Corridor and Forbes Creek nearby. The project is also located just 1.5 miles from the all-new Totem Lake Village and Downtown Kirkland.
Designed to achieve U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold certification, The Pine is also being constructed according to Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Built Smart guidelines. Constructed with reclaimed building materials from the warehouse previously located on-site, The Pine will include balanced and efficient heating/cooling; 100 percent LED lighting; electric car charging stations; energy-efficient windows/appliances; low-flow plumbing fixtures; and sustainable plantings including a drought-tolerant, native plant palette and green roof.
