Holmberg Company Mechanical Contractors, partnered with architects Lance Mueller & Associates, is building a new headquarters in the Richards Valley neighborhood of Bellevue, located just off of Interstate 405. The design team shared its design plan with the city and public on Thursday.
The proposed project, located at 936 121st Ave SE, will involve the demolition of an existing building on the property before constructing the 14,000-square-foot new headquarters that will sit on a 1.8 acre land parcel. The first floor will consist of a lobby and space for manufacturing, mechanical equipment and storage, and the second floor will provide office space for employees. The project will also include needed upgrades to the Interstate 405 access, to the west side of property.
“There are a multiple of us that live in Bellevue, so we’re a part of the community and have been for 65 years”
According to Jeff White, the president of Holmberg, it took three years before finding the project site. The anticipated bicycle trail, the proximity to Bellevue and the access to the interstate were key driving factors. “There are a multiple of us that live in Bellevue, so we’re a part of the community and have been for 65 years,” added White.
Pending approval by the city, construction on the infrastructure is anticipated to begin by the end of the summer. Once this is complete, construction on the actual building will then begin in late fall or early 2017. Employees will then move into the new headquarters office by January 2018.
