Edmonds, WA. (July 17, 2019) – Henbart LLC, an innovative northwest leader in mixed-use residential development, announced today the opening of The Village at Westgate, a four-story luxury apartment community located at 10032 Edmonds Way, in the Westgate neighborhood of Edmonds. It includes 91 well-appointed apartment homes, 3,100 square feet of retail, public and private outdoor amenity spaces, and one level of underground parking with both garage and surface parking available for residents. The Village at Westgate emphasis a Northwest lifestyle with contemporary studio, urban one-bedroom, one-bedroom, one-bedroom with an alcove, and two-bedroom units featuring light filled rooms with floor to ceiling windows, oversized bathrooms with linen closets, high-end finishes such as quartz countertops, full-size front loading washer and dryer in every unit, and stylish two-toned cabinetry with oodles of storage. In keeping with Henbart’s commitment to design excellence, the building is highly amenitzed with an indoor lounge and companion outdoor terrace with comfortable seating and barbecue areas. The lounge has been appointed to provide residents with everything that they need to relax or host the perfect dinner party. Thoughtfully located on the opposite side of the fourth floor, is a gaming lounge intended as the ideal spot to engage in a spirited game of ping-pong, cheer on your favorite sports teams, and make new friends. Other common amenities include a business conference room, ultramodern fitness center, bike storage with a repair station, dog wash station, 24-hour controlled access package room with delivery notification, Wi-Fi in all the common areas, rentable AC units for your home, and the ability to lease additional storage space.
The Village at Westgate is the first apartment community in Edmonds to include the Multi-Family Tax Credit program which allows Henbart to reserve 20-percent of the homes for individuals or families earning 80% – 115% of AMI.

“We were pleased to work with the City of Edmonds to adopt the MFTE program,” said Mark Craig, President of Henbart LLC. “As new rental housing is developed it’s important that we provide affordable options for those who make our cities thrive. We sought to deliver a highly amenitized, urban mixed-use project that is quintessentially Edmonds. We are already 20-percent leased during construction so I’m excited for us to begin moving residents into the building and being a part of this great community.”
The Village at Westgate is the first mixed-use development in the newly created Westgate Mixed Use Zone and it was thoughtfully designed as a place to live, a place to work, and a place to interact. Both the private and shared outdoor amenities contribute to a balance of social living along with relaxation and privacy.
Part of this blended-use approach is the public art piece “Elementum I” which Henbart commissioned Western Neon to create. A well-established built environment company, Western Neon designed the public art installation to connect to Edmonds’ northwest spirit. “The installation is an ode to the landscape surrounding Edmonds and sustainability,” commented Dylan Neuwirth, Creative Director for Western Neon. “Edmonds is a waterfront community, so we envisioned this concept almost as a deconstructed bonfire, something associated with the beaches in the area. The sculpture is made of reclaimed cedar from Vashon Island and local stone. We hope that the public enjoys the installation and we were thrilled to work with Henbart and the Edmonds Art Council on the design of the piece.”
As part of Henbart’s commitment to sustainability, The Village at Westgate is seeking LEED Silver certification and includes ENERGY STAR rated appliances, windows designed to optimize natural daylight, long-lasting LED lighting, low-emitting materials including low-VOC paints and coatings, a terraced green roof featuring water-saving native plants, and electric vehicle charging stations. As part of building maintenance, Henbart is committed to a comprehensive recycling and composting program and the use of green cleaning products and practices in all common areas. The location is also transit oriented with multi-model options.
The building will be managed by another Northwest firm, Northwest Apartments which currently operates 78 buildings from historical landmarks to mid-century and modern in the Pacific Northwest. As a local company, Northwest Apartments will be active in the Edmonds community and has already joined the Greater Edmonds Chamber of Commerce.
“We like to hire local property management firms that have an investment in building community,” added Craig. “Northwest Apartments will be thinking local and working with many Edmond based businesses.”
