Guardian today announced that Michael Nagy has joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Development, effective February 9, 2026.

Nagy will lead Guardian’s development platform and oversee all phases of the development process, including site acquisition, capital structuring, entitlements, design, and construction execution. His appointment comes as Guardian advances an expanding pipeline of acquisition, preservation, and ground-up development initiatives across the Western United States.

Nagy brings more than 15 years of multifamily development experience. Most recently, he opened Wood Partners’ Portland office and served as Managing Director for the Pacific Northwest, leading the development of more than 2,600 apartment homes, including Arcadia by Alta, Alta University Place, Alta Arlo, Alta Civic Station, and Alta ART Tower.

“Michael has delivered complex projects at scale and understands disciplined execution,” said Tom Brenneke, President of Guardian. “As our acquisition and preservation activity continues to grow, it is important that our development capabilities evolve in step. Michael’s leadership positions us well for the next phase of the platform.”

Prior to Wood Partners, Nagy served as Senior Development Manager at Holland Partner Group, where he oversaw the development of the 650-unit Platform District at Orenco Station and other mixed-use projects. Earlier in his career, he worked in the real estate investment banking group of Robert W. Baird in Washington, DC.
