Bonney Lake’s Trilogy at Tehaleh debuts Seven Summits Lodge

Shea Homes®’ luxurious new clubhouse couples Northwest aesthetics with active, resort-style programming at Western Washington’s largest master planned community

BONNEY LAKE, Wash. – (March 30, 2016) – Inspired by the seven majestic peaks of the Cascade Range, Seven Summits Lodge makes its Trilogy® at Tehaleh® debut with a grand opening celebration from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 9. Shea Homes® invites the public to be among the first to experience the indoor and outdoor amenities of this new 14,000-square-foot resort-style clubhouse.

Nestled 20 miles east of Tacoma and 39 miles southeast of Seattle in the shadow of Mount Rainier, Trilogy at Tehaleh is Pierce County’s first and only 55-plus active adult community and features new homes selling from the low $300s. Part of Western Washington’s largest master planned residential development, Trilogy at Tehaleh offers more than 10 miles of trails that wind through subalpine forest, perfect for walks, mountain-bike riding, hiking, running and wildlife watching.

Seven Summits Lodge is the centerpiece of the Trilogy at Tehaleh community and is located at 19001 142nd Street East in Bonney Lake. The members-only Seven Summits Lodge also includes an additional 6,000 square feet of outdoor covered patio space, with areas dedicated to relaxation, fitness, dining, a pool, games, outdoor recreation, and more. Members can also enjoy seven fireplace experiences, another nod to the Cascade’s seven summits.

Gregory Zetterberg, of Zetterberg Gregory Design, and his brother Brian Zetterberg, of Zetterberg Custom Homes, designed and built the Seven Summits Lodge. The lodge blends the Northwest aesthetic of timber framing and exposed wood beams with modern stylings, open spaces and large windows. The structure and materials in side serve as extensions of the natural environment.

“Our vision has long been to create a community centerpiece that embodies the natural beauty and character of the Northwest, while it provides the perfect backdrop for meaningful connections between neighbors,” said Mark Gray, area president of homebuilder Shea Homes Washington. “We look forward to celebrating the culmination of that vision on April 9, and invite everyone to join us.”

Grand opening attendees will arrive to free swag bags, chef demos and gourmet food tastings, along with live music by The Graduates (featuring members of The Beatniks), golf demonstrations and model-home tours. The April 9 opening also coincides with the recent introduction of two new Estate Collection floor plans: Canterwood and Tarragona. This collection features Trilogy at Tehaleh’s largest homes at approximately 2,100 to more than 2,400 square feet of living space with two or three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and attached two or three-car garages.

Once a part of the Naches Trail, an ancient Native American trading route spanning the Cascade Mountains, Bonney Lake remained a rural community until 1946. That year, the original Bonney Lake Resort opened as a weekend getaway for residents of Seattle and Tacoma. The resort clubhouse and beach hosted dances and picnics, providing summer leisure for local residents and city-dwellers.

Decades later, the Bonney Lake area is on pace to reach 25,000 residents within several years. Amid its natural surroundings and rustic stylings, Trilogy at Tehaleh’s Seven Summits Lodge aims to once again serve as a recreational destination.

Key amenities of the Seven Summits Lodge:

The Mantel, Culinary Ascent is the feature restaurant set within the Tehaleh community. Now open to residents and non-residents alike, The Mantel features a rotating menu of Northwest cuisine prepared with local produce, day-boat catches from coastal fisheries and wines from leading regional producers.

The Great Room is a hub for social connection, with a large stone fireplace, comfortable sofas, chairs and tables, and even private wine storage.

Hudson’s Culinary Expedition can accommodate up to 30 guests and is ideal for hosting cooking demonstrations and classes, TV viewing parties, and more. The space combines a premier chef’s kitchen with comfortable seating and a large TV for truly memorable gatherings. The venue’s name pays homage to Hudson’s Bay Company, which financed the expedition team that reached the Bonney Lake area in the 1800s.

Two Tides is home to one of North America’s first “disappearing pools.” Built by Belgium-based Hydrofloors, the name alludes to the gravitation forces of the moon, earth and sun that cause two high tides every day. The technology used in Two Tides was first made famous by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas. Two Tides can transform from pool to flat surface in mere minutes, allowing the pool area to double as a ballroom/meeting space.

The Hawk’s Nest is a sports escape that houses a full-size golf simulator, allowing residents to tee off at more than 200 golf courses. It also features darts and billiards, as well as flat-screen TVs.

Base Camp Athletic Club includes a TechnoGym Training System—some of the finest fitness equipment on the market—along with free weights and other cardio equipment. Self-directed workouts are accompanied by indoor classes including Step, Low Impact, Spin, Pilates, Yoga, and Muscle Toning.

Flow Body & Mind is an artisan studio—designed for quilting, painting, and ceramics—that can transform into an open workout space for fitness classes and personal training. Large garage doors let in light and air and reveal sweeping views.

Four Suits is a casual game room perfectly suited for the card-playing crowd, offering everything from cribbage to canasta, poker to pinochle.

Reflection Lake, located just steps from the lodge, features a sandy beach and fire pit for enjoying campfires and s’mores.

Valhalla Lawn and grassy promenades throughout the lodge’s property can support performances, weddings, concerts and other events. The adjoining spaces are designed for meditation, journaling or other quiet time. With the lake in the foreground, and the highland forests in the background, the outdoor features are ideal for gathering with others, or reconnecting with nature—and yourself.
