Arena Sports to Open Indoor Sports Facility and Family Entertainment Center in Mill Creek

REDMOND, Wash.–Arena Sports, the largest indoor sports company in Washington state, is planning to develop a new facility in Mill Creek to be called Arena Sports and Entertainment. The 98,000 square-foot facility will be the fifth and largest location for the company. Plans include indoor soccer fields, bowling lanes, laser tag, arcade games, an indoor inflatable playground, bumper cars, rock-climbing tower and a ropes course. Over one million annual visits are expected.

“This will be fun for the entire family,” said Don Crowe, CEO of Arena Sports. “We’ll have a full slate of youth and adult soccer leagues and our popular children’s programming including Lil’ Kickers, Skills Institute and sports camps, and we’re adding an entire family entertainment center that we hope will be the go-to destination for parties, special events, team building and more.”

“City leaders have a clear, forward-looking vision for Mill Creek as a vibrant, family-friendly community with a strong commitment to the quality of life of its citizens,” said Crowe. “It’s been a pleasure working with city staff on the planning and development of Arena Sports and Entertainment, which we believe will be the perfect complement to the community and a hub for family fun.”

“We are committed to delivering diverse and much-needed activities, services and job opportunities to create a community where our residents can enjoyably and easily live, work and play,” said Rebecca Polizzotto, city manager of Mill Creek. “Arena Sports and Entertainment will employ more than 200 people, both part time and full time. As we continue to build a strong community, we are excited to work with the company to develop this new facility for people to work, play and gather.”

Arena Sports and Entertainment will feature both men’s, women’s and co-ed adult leagues as well as competitive and recreational youth leagues for kids ages five (U6) through high school. Kids 18 months to nine years will be able to join the award-winning Lil’ Kickers developmental soccer program and kids ages five to 12 can participate in Skills Institute to learn technical and tactical skills and mastery of fundamentals. But Arena Sports offers much more than just indoor soccer. There will also be:

  • Indoor inflatable playground
  • Bowling
  • Multi-floor laser tag arena
  • Spinning bumper cars
  • Two-story rock climbing tower
  • Two-story ropes course
  • Arcade games — including new virtual reality games
  • Party and meeting space
  • On-site dining – full kitchen as well as beer, wine and soft drinks
  • Community meeting space – free for partner sports clubs and organizations to utilize

Arena Sports and Entertainment will be located near Henry M. Jackson High School at the intersection of Dumas Road and Bothell-Everett Highway. The company is currently in the permitting stage and hopes to build the facility from the ground-up over the next year with an expected opening in the fall of 2017.
