Aegis, a family-owned senior care group based in Bellevue, purchased the building it has been operating out of from two LLCs associated with the Wright Family and the Paul C. Wright Trust. Aegis Senior Communities purchased the Aegis Senior Community in Lynnwood for $10.5 million, or $300,000 per unit, in a deal that closed April 11.

Privately owned since 1997, Aegis has been operating out of the 35-unit facility located at 18700 44th Ave. W in Lynnwood and is now the building’s owner. The facility caters towards a variety of senior citizens and offers assisted living, memory care and short term care.

Aegis has 28 communities across Washington, California and Nevada. In Washington, the group has properties all across the Puget Sound region including Bellevue, Shoreline, Issaquah, Kent, Kirkland, Lynnwood, Seattle and Redmond. Currently, the group only has one property in Nevada with the majority split between Washington and California.

According to the group’s website, come 2018, four more facilities will be opening in the area in Newcastle, two more in Seattle and one on Mercer Island. All four of those communities will offer assisted living, memory care and short term care.

For those in need of assisted living, Aegis staff takes care of household chores, home maintenance and meals. Residents can partake in a number of activities including yoga, games, crafts in the activity center and days out on the town shopping. The facility also offers room service, dry cleaning, pet care, massage therapy and a beauty salon and barber. Residents in memory care are surrounded by an environment reminiscent of home, family and friends. The facility specifically helps those with dementia.
