HOK Expands Its Seattle Team

Seattle, WA – HOK (www.hok.com) has been growing the Seattle team with a couple of strategic new hires and promotions.

The Seattle studio recently named Todd Buchanan a Senior Associate. Todd has been managing projects in the Seattle office since 2008 with a focus on aviation, justice and science & technology. He is currently working on the Salt Lake City Airport Terminal Redevelopment Program and the King County Children’s and Family Justice Center.

The studio also recently hired Jerome Unterreiner as a VP and Senior Urban Designer. For more than 25 years, Jerome has worked on urban districts and transportation systems while at ZGF Architects 360 Architecture, which HOK recently acquired. He has been involved in the Pacific Northwest’s most dynamic neighborhoods and districts. His projects include early visioning of South Lake Union and planning for the Stadium District in Seattle, assisting with development of the Bel-Red Corridor Plan in Bellevue, and early planning for the Pearl District in Portland and also for eco-districts in Japan.

Julia Payne Cooper, another recent hire for HOK’s Seattle studio, is a Workplace Strategist with over 10 years of strategic planning experience and 25 years of design experience. In her new consulting role, Julia will be involved in client visioning, leading the strategic planning, workplace transformation and change management and communication phases of her projects to ensure client business and staff engagement objectives are met. Julia previously worked at Callison Architects in Seattle before spending 10 years overseas and 4 years in Washington DC, Portland and Seattle with ZGF Architects.
